Frequently Asked Questions

Just the FAQs

How do I use this message board?

Click on the Ask a question links on the Ask an Expert message board page. You must supply your name or nickname. Enter a title for your question (not the question itself). Then in the message block, type your question. Finally, click the Submit a Question button at the bottom right of the page and you will see your question as it will appear on the message board. If you are satisfied with it, press the Yes, Send My Message button. If you want to make changes, press the Back button in your browser to return to the previous page. That's all there is to it!

Why didn't my question show up?

Probably the reason your message did not appear is because your browser did not reload the page and you need to refresh your browser window. Also your question will not appear if you forget to press the Yes, Send My Message button after reviewing your message.

Why can't I reply to someone else's question?

The primary purpose of the message board is to allow school-age children and adults to ask questions about the current eTrip and receive answers from our subject matter experts in a timely fashion. It is not intended to be an open forum for extended discussions.

When will my message be answered?

Generally, all questions are answered on the day they are asked between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. However, the volume of messages received, the number of subject matter experts available to answer questions, and the amount of research required to answer any particular question may delay the response.

Can I use HTML tags in my message?

No. Any tags, <b> for Bold as an example, will show up as text only, so please don't use them since they take up space and make your question more difficult to read.

Inspector Director: So you have questions?
Let's clear up the mystery. If you do not find an answer to your question or can't make the board work for you, email me, Inspector Director, Yellowstone Ministry of Mysteries.
