Thanks for your question, Destiny. The main reasons that bears attack humans are if they view a person either as a competitor or as a threat. If a human approaches too closely or comes between a mother bear and her cubs, the bear may perceive a threat. Also, by startling a feeding bear, or approaching a carcass, the bear may believe a person is competing with them over a food source.
