: If more than one person, 2-3, are hiking in Yellowstone what are the chances of encountering or being attacked by a bear?
: What is the best defense if you encounter an agressive bear or one tries to attack?

Thanks for your question, Janna. The chances of encountering or being attacked by a bear while hiking in Yellowstone decrease with every additional person. For greatest safety from encounters, it is suggested in hike in groups of at least four persons.
