Thanks for your question, Ben. Yes, grizzly bears are capable of climbing trees, though the adults lose much of this ability as they become heavier. Young grizzlies are good climbers, but older, heavier bears must "ladder"-use the tree branches as rungs. There have been some reports of large grizzlies in trees, but they are the exceptions.
