Thanks for your question, Casey. It's important that you realize that not all of the 100 wolves that have died here were killed by other wolves. Approximately half of these deaths were caused by humans. Some of the other deaths were naturally caused by such things are disease, drowning, getting gored, or getting burned by a hotspring. Incidents of wolves killing other wolves are actually relatively few and have been due to a fierce sense of competition between packs or (as was the case of Wolf #40 and #42 in our Field Trip) between individuals.
